On World Thalassemia Day, the Thalassemia Sickle Cell Society (TSCS) paid tribute to Gandhi Hospital’s Department of Paediatric Surgery for their unwavering support of thalassemia children in need of splenectomy medical services. The department, led by Prof Dr. K. Nagarjuna, has performed numerous successful splenectomies over the past three years.

Mr. Chandrakant Agarwal, TSCS President, and Dr. Suman Jain, CEO & Secretary of TSCS, commended the exceptional quality of care provided by the dedicated team of paediatric surgeons at Gandhi Hospital. They highlighted the unique post-operative environment of the hospital’s “Children Play Den,” which helps thalassemia patients recuperate in a comfortable and engaging space.

TSCS leaders have called on the government of Telangana to recognize the outstanding efforts of the Department of Paediatric Surgery at Gandhi Hospital in providing safe and effective healthcare services to thalassemia children requiring splenectomy.
